Beef Tacos

Ingredients:

  • 500g Minced beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup water
  • Taco shells or tortillas
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Ingredients:
    • Chop the onions and dice the tomatoes.
    • Shred the lettuce and cheddar cheese.
  2. Cook the Beef:
    • In a pan over medium heat, cook the diced onion until they become transparent.
    • Add the minced beef to the pan with the onions.
    • Cook the beef until browned, stirring occasionally to break up the meat.
  3. Add Flavor:
    • Drain excess fat from the pan.
    • Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the beef.
    • Pour in 1 cup of water and mix well.
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Assemble the Tacos:
    • Warm the taco shells or tortillas as directed on their package.
    • Spoon the beef mixture into each shell.
    • Top with lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa to taste.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious homemade beef tacos!

Tip: For a bit of extra flavour, you can add chopped cilantro or a squeeze of lime over the top of your tacos before serving.
